How it works

Helping drivers easily and quickly gain load compliance!

The Ramp Tech Truck curtain system was created to be easy to produce, install, maintain and replace.

In 2013 Ramp Tech had a light bulb moment when they discovered that they could tension the truck curtains by sliding the curtain track up a series of ramps. This action lifts the truck curtain track and tensions the truck curtain. We no longer needed to use buckles to tighten the truck curtains.

This removed problems associated with wind drag and billowing, whilst creating a sleek surface for advertising. However the heavy pole remained as seen in the earlier models. The heavy poles, a clear safety issue was replaced with a light weight aluminium board in later releases.

1

TIGHT AS A DRUM

A very tight truck curtain that is aerodynamic and fuel saving.
This reduces wear and tear on hardware and extends the life of the curtain system as curtains don’t flap.

2

GLIDE THE CURTAIN

When the over centre latch is released simply glide the curtain open from the front or the back.
Truck curtains that glide freely and don’t jam tend to reduce shoulder and back injuries.

3

LOWERED SLIGHTLY

Flick the switch to lower the curtain slightly. This allows the truck curtain to be loose and easy to open, whilst, keeping the lower hook/rollers engaged with the bottom coaming rail.
This means that workers will be shielded from dislodged falling parcels when opening the truck curtain. Truck Curtain Gates are seldom required.
Internal anchor point can be used at this time.

4

LOWER FULLY

On occasions when external load binders are required, lower the curtain fully to disengage the bottom hook/rollers. Now external load binder can be easily be fitted.

This system makes compliance easier to gain.

What’s included

The kit contains two aluminium extrusions: a structural track and a curtain track. Axles and wheels are fitted to the curtain track and ramps are fitted to the structural track.
Electric actuators are fitted to the left and right side of the curtain track, followed by the electrics and the the latch mechanism

The Ramp Tech System: Earlier model

Ramp Tech’s earlier model included the infamous heavy pole that all truck curtain systems use. The heavy pole, a clear safety issue was replaced with a light weight aluminium strip in later releases. The video depicted here shows the system with the pole in use.
