Meet the director!
Ramp Tech is a Research and Design workshop operating in a small country town called Iona, in East Gippsland Victoria.
Douglas Donaldson, is the director of Automated Truck Curtain Systems, trading as Ramp Tech. Douglas completed his apprenticeship as a diesel mechanic with the Country Roads Board in the early 80s.
After leaving the Country Roads Board Douglas became involved with the family business, Polyweld.
Polyweld became involved in the manufacturing of truck curtains, generically known as Tautliners.
For 30 years Douglas worked on every style of truck curtain known to man (at least in Australia). Douglas became the companies truck curtain problem solver and spent years solving truck driver’s problems for the individual truck and or trailer with curtain sides.
Douglas was a part of the evolution of countless variations of truck curtain systems.
In 2010 a buckle free system became available. This new system was a great time saver for the truck drivers.
Douglas has since put his knowledge of mechanics and truck liners to work and evolved the buckle free system to create the current Ramp Tech System.
The current Ramp Tech System, ticks all boxes, it is a flat pack type installation, with easily replaceable parts.
Ramp Tech have produced an automated truck curtain system that is faster, safer, tighter, with substantially lower maintenance costs, that also saves on fuel.
